Seagate 60TB SSD: World's Largest SSD Has Been Produced

Seagate has unveiled a 60 Terabyte SSD which is believed to be the world's largest SSD (Solid State Drive). Seagate is one of the popular makers of storage drives we use on our gadgets and PC. Interestingly, SSD’s are faster and less susceptible to crashes when compared to the hard disk drives which can be very volatile.

According to the source,

"The 60 TB SAS SSD features twice the density and four times the capacity of the next highest-capacity SSD available today — equivalent to the capacity needed to accommodate 400 million photos on a typical social media platform, or 12,000 DVD movies. This single controller architecture also delivers the lowest cost per gigabyte for flash available today."

The storage device will be finally launched in 2017 and at the moment, there is no word about the price of the memory device. Now, this is even more interesting as Seagate is already hinting at stepping it up to 100 TB soon.

What would you do with a 60TB storage device? I thinks it's best suited for large organizations working with billions of files and am sure the price will be a no go area for the common man.
