I as an example, am very adventurous when it comes to discovering new stuffs in gadgets and ICT world so at times, I fail and learn from the attempt.

One of the most popular tweaking method used on Android devices powered by MTK processor is the rooting and flashing of ROMs via SP Flash Tool and while this is cool practice for tweakers, it can as well be a disaster waiting to happen. This is because many phones has been destroyed as a result of careless flashing process and one of those careless acts is interrupting the flashing process either by touching the USB chord or shaking you PC while the flashing process is still going on. This will likely result to a dead or Bricked phone.

Once this is done, you might get the "USB device not recognized" error on further flashing attempts. You can learn how to Unbrick a bricked phone. It's an article i published for those that have a bricked device and are confused on what to do to revive it.

How To Fix A Dead MTK Android Phone

MediaTek phones like Tecno, Infinix, Gionee, Innjoo etc can be fixed and brought back to life by following the below guide.

First Method
1. Attach the dead phone to a PC (with an original USB cord) or power source and leave it to charge for some time. The charging process could be too slow to the extent of recording just 1% of charge in about 2 hours.

2. Once the charging indicator shows it's charging, then you are lucky. Just allow it to continue charging until it's fully charged. Then switch it on. Although this might not work in some case.

Second Method
1. Remove the battery of the dead phone
2. Connect the phone to a charger without battery inside
3. Slot in the battery while the phone is still connected to the charger
4. You could also keep pressing the Volume up + Power button while the device is charging

Third Method
1. Remove and boost the battery using a desktop / external charger then resume internal charging.
2. Uninstall then re-install MTK vcom drivers you’ve earlier on installed on your PC computer.

These simple acts can magically revive your dead phone without much hard work. And it's a credit to those using removable battery devices as those using non-removable might not be able to carry out some of the procedures above.
