How MTN Reduced Monthly Data Plans 1.5GB Now 1GB, 3.5GB Now 2.5GB

MTN Nigeria has restructured and reduced their 1.5GB for N1000 data plan to 1GB (Plus 500MB 1am -7am) as well as the 3.5GB for N2000 to 2.5GB (Plus 1GB 1am-7am).

Of course is a bad news for Nigerians who has been expecting an improvement in data allocation and prices but now meted with this bad news.

What is MTN really thinking? People are still complaining about the recent data "zapping" experience when it was the normal 1.5GB and 3.5GB for the N1000 and N2000 data plans respectively and now we have being dealt a more serious blow.

MTN is currently sending messages to their subscribers that starting from October 7th , they will be modifying their data plans. If you haven't seen the message, maybe yours will arrive later probably before the date. Here is a sample of the message.

Y'ello! From Oct, 7, we're modifying the 1.5GB plan to give you 1GB +500MB bonus only at night (1am-7am)when you buy or renew...

HOW THE NEW DATA NOW WORKS

✔ Now, if you subscribe for the 1.5GB for N1000, you will get 1GB to be used all day + 500MB Bonus usable from 1am – 7am.

✔ Similarly, if you subscribe for the 3.5GB for 2000 Naira, it is now be 2.5GB all day + 1GB bonus usable from 1am – 7am

This simply means if you exhaust the 1GB during the day, you won't be able to use the 500mb bonus to browse until it's night from 1am till early morning 7am. Isn't this suicidal?

Meanwhile, you can check alternative data plans from other networks here or see 9Mobile free browsing tweak.

MTN why are you like this? What has Nigerians done to deserve all these. Don't blame it on recession oooo.

  4. They should keep deceiving themselves not Nigerians. TSTV is here for good. You'll soon sell 1GB for 100 and no one will subscribe.

  5. Seems thieves from South Africa aren't leaving Nigeria anytime soon.
Shoprite - South African big thief
MTN - South African bigger thief
DSTV - South African biggest thief.
While South Africans kill, loot and destroy Nigerians legitimate business in South Africa hiding under xenophobic, their businesses in Nigeria continue to steal from us.
