How to Remove Annoying Ads on Your TECNO, Infinix and Gionee Phones

Are you getting annoying ads on your Tecno, Infinix and Gionee smartphone ? If yes, would like to stop ? If your answer to this question is yes then you’re in the right spot. Some ads can be pretty annoying especially if they don’t interest you or are intruding. The only way to stop the ads is to look for the cause of the ads and stop it. We will be showing you how to do that here.

HOW TO REMOVE ANNOYING ADS ON YOUR TECNO, INFINIX AND GIONEE PHONES

The number one reason why most tecno and Infinix users are receiving ads is the launcher they are using. Tecno comes HiOS launcher while Infinix comes with XOS launcher. These two launchers show you ads in form of recommending apps for you to download. You can see the ad when you pull up the app launcher. On Tecno Phones (HiOS launcher) and Infinix Phones (XOS launcher), you can turn this off by following the steps below.

1. Press and hold on an empty space on your phone’s home screen till some options come up at the bottom side of the screen.

3. In the bottom side, Click on desktop settings for Tecno Phones and Menu for Infinix Phones and Select Other Settings.

3. From here you can turn off application recommendation.

This will stop apps recommendation from showing up on your tecno and Infinix phone. You can also solve this by installing a new launcher from the Google play store to replace your existing app launcher.

HOW TO BLOCK POP UP ADS ON YOUR TECNO, INFINIX AND GIONEE PHONES

If you’re being plagued by pop up ads on your android device then there are so many approach to fix the problem. First, you can try to figure out which app is popping up the ad on your screen. If the ads only pops up when you launch a specific app then that app is definitely the cause of the pop up ad which might be a way for the developers of the app to monetise the app. You can either uninstall the app to stop the pop up ads or continue using the app like that with the pop up ads. You can also download an add blocker like “Ad Block Plus” or any other ad blocker from the Google Play store to do the job for you.

Now, if the pop up ad randomly pop ups on your android without launching an app then we might be looking at a virus. You can try using an antivirus app to scan your device. A better solution will be to factory reset your device which will wipe everything off including the virus. Remember to back up your important files before performing a factory reset on your device. Once you do that, the pop up ads should stop. Going forward, you should be careful of the apps you install and where you get the apps from.

HOW TO BLOCK PUSH ADS/NOTIFICATIONS ON YOUR ANDROID DEVICE

Push ads are the ads/notification that just show up on your notification panel. Stopping this kind of add is actually very easy. All you have to do is wait till you get any of those ads, swipe down your notification panel and click on it. Any app that opens is the app responsible for this. You’ll then have to navigate to that app settings from within the app and turn it off. Different apps have different methods of turning this off. If you can’t find the option to turn this off in the settings menu of the app you can drop the name of the app below in the comment section and we’ll guide you on how to go about it.

CONCLUSION

If you’re experiencing any other type of annoying ads on your android device not talked about here, be sure to let us know in the comment section down below so as to provide a solution to stop the ads.

Price and Availability

The Infinix Hot 8 Pro is not available at this time in Nigeria. The device has been unveiled in India and might come to Nigeria in the coming months. The price, on the other hand, is said to be around N48,000 which is similar to what we have on the TECNO Camon 12

Infinix Hot 8 With 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM Leaked Online

We don’t know how many units of the Hot 7 Infinix has sold so far, but the supposed arrival of its successor, the Infinix Hot 8, hardly six months later says a lot. Perhaps Infinix is quickly making amends for the uninspiring Hot 7 with an improved Hot 8 whose retail box has recently leaked ahead of launch.
The first amend, so it seems, is to add support for 4G LTE. Most people keep phones for years and we all know that areas currently without 4G should get it eventually and with the 4G-capable Hot 8, they’ll be future-proof. On the other hand, those who have the Hot 7 are stuck on 3G forever even if they move to a region with 4G. Too bad!
This could be one of those tricks companies use to force users to upgrade to a newer or rather more expensive phone. And we know Infinix is no stranger to related strategies, having on several occasions released two variants of the same phone with 3G and 4G support as one of the main differences.
Infinix Hot 8

If the box is anything to go by, the upcoming Infinix Hot 8 could borrow some of the Infinix S4’s aesthetics. Or perhaps just about the entire external looks and feel. The box has an image of the Hot 8 with a waterdrop-style notch on an otherwise full-screen bar the tiny chin at the bottom. I hate to admit it but this type of notch looks much cleaner and minimal than the Hot 7.
The image also reveals that the Hot 8 will ship with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with room to expand via a microSD card. In comparison, the Hot 7 sold in Nigeria has 1GB or 2GB RAM allied to 16GB or 32GB storage.
Still, we cannot guarantee that the aforementioned combo is what will come to Nigeria. This is especially since the Indian market got a far much superior variant of the Infinix Hot 7 than what we got here. What’s even more painful is that it offers more value for the same amount of money we pay for the weaker model sold here. Are you even kidding me, Infinix?
Below is a summary of the rumored Infinix Hot 8 specs.
  • 6.2-inch HD+ display screen
  • MediaTek Helio P25 SoC
  • 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable storage
  • Dual 13MP + 2MP main camera
  • 4000mAh battery
  • Android 9.0 Pie with XOS 5.0
  • Extras: Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB, dual-SIM, 4G LTE, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, etc.
The Infinix Hot 8 will reportedly be unveiled in India later this month priced at under INR 10,000, which is equivalent to about NGN50,000 in Nigeria and Kshs 14,500 in Kenya. It is alleged that Infinix will have it in Midnight Black, Aqua Blue, and Mocha Brown paint jobs.

Infinix Hot S4 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 – Which One to Buy?

Infinix recently launched the Hot S4 smartphone as a successor to their previous Hot S3 smartphone around the same time Redmi also entered the Nigeria Market with their recently released Redmi Note 7. Now, Both devices are within the same price bracket and if you’re in the market for a new smartphone within the range of N50,000 – N70,000 then chances are, you’ve narrowed your options to these two devices right. We will be taking a look at their specifications here in order to determine which one is worth buying.

Infinix S4 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 – Design & Display

Infinix Hot S4
Infinix Hot S4 has a 6.26-inch HD+ display with a water drop notch housing the front facing camera while the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has a slightly bigger 6.3-inch display with also a water drop notch housing the front-facing camera. The Xiaomi Redmi back is made of glass with plastic frame all around as against plastic on the Infinix S4
Xiaomi Redmi 7
Infinix S4 has a triple camera at its back with a quad-LED flash while Redmi Note 7 has a dual rear camera setup with an LED flash. Infinix S4 comes in colours Red and Blue while Redmi Note 7 has Blue, Black and Twilight Gold colours. Infinix S4 has dual SIM slot and a dedicated slot for MicroSD while Redmi Note 7 has a Hybrid SIM card which means you can either use Two SIM cards or One SIM and a microSD card.

Infinix S4 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 – Hardware & Software

Infinix Hot S4 makes use of a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz alongside a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for gaming with 3GB or 6GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB as the available storage options. Storage can be expanded via the dedicated MicroSD card slot of up to 128GB.
Redmi Note 7, on the other hand, has a better Snapdragon 660 SoC which also has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with an Adreno 512 GPU for graphics/gaming. It comes in three configurations which include 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB with a possibility of taking up to 256GB via a MicroSD card.
Both the Infinix S4 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box. However, Infinix S4 will have their XOS UI on top and Xioami will also have their MIUI on top as well.

Camera, Battery & Connectivity

Infinix Hot S4 has a triple rear camera consisting of a 13MP + 8MP + 2MP camera combination with a quad-LED flash and a single 32MP camera at the front for selfies. Redmi Note 7, on the other hand, has just rear cameras; a 48MP main sensor and a secondary 5MP depth sensor camera. As for selfies, the Redmi Note 7 has a single 13MP front-facing camera.
Both the Infinix S4 and Hot 7 Pro have a 4,000mAh battery with a standard 10W fast battery charging on the Infinix S4 and an 18W (Quick Charge 4) fast battery charging on the Redmi Note 7. There is also 4G LTE connectivity here on both devices. Other features on both devices include but not limited to WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm jack and of course, a microUSB port on the Infinix S4 and a USB Type-C on the Redmi Note 7 through which charging and file transfer are done. Redmi Note 7 also has an IR blaster which can be used to control other household appliances.

Infinix S4 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 – Price

Infinix Hot S4 cost N49,900 for the 3GB/32GB configuration and can go as high as N64,500 for the biggest configuration with 6GB/64GB. Redmi Note 7, on the other hand, starts at N58,000 for the based model with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The bigger 4GB/64GB configuration goes for N66,900 while doubling the storage (4GB/128GB) will increase the price to N75,000.
Personally, I’ll opt for the Redmi note 7 as it is obviously better than the Infinix S4 but if you can’t afford to add the extra money for it then the Hot S4 will do just fine.
