How To Get Glo Oga SIM Double Data 125% Bonus

Glo Oga SIM Double Data Bonus is a new offer from Globacom exclusively for Glo subscribers on 4G LTE network. It offers customers up to 125% bonus on data subscriptions but my question is why did Glo scrapped its traditional double data bonus which favours all customers irrespective of their network status in the first place?
Glo Oga Sim

Anyway, in summary Glo Oga Sim gives subscribers double data bonus over the standard data package on their subscriptions. For example if you subscribe for 7.2GB @ N2500, you get extra 7.2GB oga sim data bonus making it 14.4GB. You see it's a bargain for those of us on the 4G service but Glo should at least consider other customers to carry everyone along.

Meanwhile, if you subscribe N1000 monthly data plan, you now get 3.5GB instead of the former 1.6GB and 2GB data volume. Glo Oga SIM offer works on all other data plans from the network.

HOW TO GET GLO OGA SIM BONUS

1. You need a Glo 4G SIM. In case you don't have it yet, you can simply visit the closest Globacom office to upgrade your 3G SIM to 4G

2. Once you have a 4G SIM, auto renew your current plan.

After that, you automatically activate the Glo Oga SIM bonus on your line.

Heads up, some customers has revealed that Glo 4G LTE network is very fast in their location.

How To Use Glo Data Calculator

Globacom has launched a new service called "Glo Data Calculator" that will help subscribers run an estimate of internet data volume that can be used at a particular time. With this service, you can calculate how many MB that can serve you in a month before you go on to subscribe.

Globacom publicized that Glo Data Calculator will serve subscribers better by engaging them more on the network and allowing them to determine their data usage and consumption pattern.

Glo data calculator also allows you determine the total volume of data need to use social media, browse websites, download music, stream videos etc within a month.

"Under Glo Data Calculator, Glo customers will choose monthly data entries, followed by details of various online activities including emails sent and received per day, and hours of streaming music (Music, Apple Music and others in Minutes/Day) to calculate usage".

Globacom Reacts To Alleged Firing Of Married Women

For some weeks now, Globacom has been on the news for the wrong reason which is the alleged sacking of married women in their pay-sheet. Protest has been going on in Enugu, Lagos and some other states. But Glo has now taken the bull by the horn by responding to the accusation.

Nigerian indigenous Telecoms giant Globacom Ltd, (AKA Glo), has been accused of mass-sacking members of staff who are female and married.

According to some of the staff that were laid off, both married and unmarried staff were fired but married women were most affected.

An unverified document shared by Twitter user @duchesskk showed that of 97 women sacked by Glo, only 4 were single, while the rest were married. See the documents here.
Workers sack tweets

For more confirmation, some of the affected former member of staffs allowed TVC to interrogate them on the "let's talk" TV program. According to them, they were told that their services are no longer required. You can see the interview via this link.
Glo sacks workers

Meanwhile, Glo reacted by debugging the claims that married women were targeted in the mass sack.
In a statement released on its Twitter, the company revealed that both male and female, single and married, were let go. Read;
Glo workers sack statement

Globacom has in the recent past let go of employees, both male and female, married and single, due to performance issues. It is not true that this was restricted to married women alone.
Do you think it's right to massively lay off  staffs at the first place?

airtel double data

5. Airtel Double Data Bonus Offer
I am a complete beneficiary of this offer because I have been enjoying Airtel n1500 for 6GB plan for a year now. It's actually a BB plan on Android devices but doubled.

Apart from the 6GB offer, there is also airtel N1000 for 3GB double data bonus.

This offer based on eligibility but if you are eligible, you should be very glad.

To activate, dial *144# and a list of data plans you will buy for the doubling of data will appear, kindly purchase those applicable data plans and it will be doubled immediately.

You can check your data balance by dialling *140# and note that once activated, the offer will valid for 6 months and your data purchased will expire depending on the type of plan you bought. Though I have used n1500 for 6gb for more than 6 months.
mtn double data

6. MTN Double Data Offer
Just like Airtel and other networks, MTN, being the top network provider in Nigeria also offers double data bonuses for eligible customers that valid for 6 Months

Meanwhile, the basic way to get the bonus from MTN is to get a new MTN line but you can still get it with your old line by applying this simple trick.

Send DOUBLE, PROMO and FREE to 131 as SMS and wait for the three replies to hit your inbox. After that, dial *131# and purchase any data plans from the list, and finally, check your doubled data by dialling *131*4# and that’s all.

If you are still confused, you can check this post for the full explanation and guidelines.
9mobile double data

7. 9mobile Double Data Bonus Offer
Unlike other networks, 9Mobile double data offer is based on tariff plan and not eligibility.

In other words, you need to be in the Morecliq tariff plan (formally easycliq) for you to be eligible or enjoy the offer and to migrate to 9mobile Morecliq tariff plan, simply dial *244*1# and you are welcome to the tariff.

Then, to activate 9mobile double data offer, simply dial *545# and activate the 100% double data offer.

Now, dial *200# and buy a data plan from 9mobile, you’ll see that the data will be doubled to X2 of the data you purchased. Enjoy the data with the speed! See more details about it here.

So the trick here is you should automatically renew your plan before the validity date and you will get your double data.

Meanwhile, I haven't been able to use Glo network for 2 years now. In fact, my Glo SIM should have been disabled by now simply because there is no Glo network in my area. So the information on this particular topic is based on what I read from others and not my own experience. See more info about Glo Double data here.
airtel 6gb for n1500

9. Airtel 6GB for N1,500
I said something about this plan earlier on this page and I had to testify that it has been my best plan ever.

This bonus works based on eligibility for existing and new subscribers on the network.

Once you receive the eligibility message, saying; “Enjoy Airtel 6GB Monthly Data Plan for N1500. Simply Dial *440*161# NOW to activate this Amazing Offer!….,” simply dial this code *440*161# without having credit on your phone and if it says “insufficient credit”, it means you are eligible but if it says otherwise, kindly know you are not eligible.

If you are eligible, dial *440*161# to activate the bonus offer from Airtel and also dial *140# to check your data bonus but note that it zaps.

With n500, you get 6GB valid for one month.

Remember, before you can use this plan on your phone, you need to enable "2G only" network mode. Goto settings>mobile networks and set preferred network to 2G and enjoy your surfing. If your phone doesn't support 2G only network, it's of no use subscribing to it because it won't work.
best night plan

13. Airtel and MTN Night Plans
There are many night plans available in Nigeria but I singled out Airtel and MTN night plans because they are the best.

Just as the name indicates, night plans are usable only at night but are affordable. So if you have an important thing to do online or you wish to download or solve assignments online, you can go for these plans.

To activate MTN night plan, simply send NIGHT to 131 and you are done activating the night plan, it costs just N25 only and valid from 12pm to 4am.

To activate Airtel night plan, migrate to Airtel smartTrybe by dialling *312# and select 1 option, then dial *312# again and select option 3 (Trybe Night Browsing) and select from the N25 for 500MB valid from 12am to 5am and the N200 gives 1.5GB data valid from 12am to 5am.

FINAL WORDS
Wise people usually find a way to survive. Funny but interesting, some people are not aware of these plans but they actually exist.

So stop complaining of high cost of data plans and make a wise decision. Select from the one that suits you here and you will be glad you did.

Meanwhile, if you have any question, kindly let me know via the comments box.

Comparing Latest Glo Data Plans with MTN, Airtel and 9Mobile Plans

Many Nigerians were disappointed yesterday when they learnt that Glo has slashed their data volumes for monthly plans but do you think Glo data bundles are now more expensive than that from other networks operating in the country? Well, the answer is here on this post.

Well, the below statement is from Globacom website heaping praise on their data packages. Meanwhile, you will see how Glo Data plans compares with MTN, Airtel and 9Mobile data plans.

"Glo is offering UNMATHCED DATA VALUE, giving you the UNFAIR ADVANTAGE.

Our data plans range from daily, weekly, monthly and flexi plans to Blackberry Plans including plans for Blackberry 10 devices.

We offer much more data volumes for much lesser prices. We also provide a self care data management portal, the High Speed Internet (HSI) portal where you can view your data usage, share data, buy data and gift data, available at http://hsi.glo.com.

Dial *777# or visit hsi.glo.com to buy and manage subscriptions (Applicable to mobile devices Using the Glo Bolt Internet service)."
Compare glo, mtn, Airtel, 9Mobile data plans
SUMMARIZING THE DATA COMPARISON IMAGE ABOVE
As you can see from the image, Glo still offers the cheapest data plans. For instance, Globacom now gives 2GB for N1000 monthly data but MTN gives 1GB plus 500MB bonus usable at night while Airtel gives 1.5GB for same N1k price for a monthly plan. 9Mobile here is even more expensive as they give just 1GB for N1000 which valid for a month.

DISADVANTAGES OF GLO DATA IN NIGERIA
While Glo offers the cheapest data plans, they are the worst network in terms of coverage and speed in most areas in Nigeria as can be seen from many comments from users online.

Also, Glo users are having a serious difficult time as they can't access most blogs/websites on https except they use a VPN. It's too bad for user experience. How can one subscribe for a plan and unable to visit his or her favorite sites?

SAD: Glo Reduce Monthly Data Plan (N1000 for 2GB, N2000 for 4.5GB)

I don't know whether it's recession or what but the information I got late last night was that Glo has reduced the data volume allocated to their monthly data plans.

I confirmed it this morning when I dialed *777# to buy a data for my kid brother. According to the message displayed on the screen;
This plans are for new customers and for renewals
1. N1000 = 2GB 30 days
2. N2000 = 4.5GB 30 days
3. N2500 = 7.2GB 30 days
4. More plans
5. Special Data Offer
6. Infos

As you can see, the popular Glo N1000 for 3.2GB plan is now reduced to just 2GB for same price and duration.
Glo reduced data plans
Although, as at this morning, some people testified that they were given 3.2GB while some said they got 4GB for N1000 and others said they got 2GB for N1000. I don't really know whom to believe for now but all I know is that Globacom has reduced the plans and it's a matter of time before the new change gets to all customers.

Though they are still better than MTN and Airtel who gives 1.5GB for N1000 and 9Mobile who gives just 1GB for N1000.

So what do you think about this development?

9Mobile Sell: Glo Out, Smile and Teleology Holdings Ltd Remaining

Surprisingly, Globacom is out of the race to acquire unsettled 9Mobile (formally Etisalat Nigeria). After so many speculations hinting that Glo may acquire 9mobile, it's the end of the road for the indigenous Nigerian telecom company.

The curtains are about to be drawn on the sale of 9Mobile, a discernible trend has emerged from the camp of the two finalists; Smile Telecoms Holdings and Teleology Holdings Limited. On either side are former CEOs of MTN Nigeria leading the charge. Smile Telecoms Holdings has one of its leaders Ahmad Farroukh and Teleology Holdings Limited is led by Adrian Wood.

Adrian Wood was the second Chief Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria . He served for almost two years only. Thereafter he was named Group Managing Director of Daily Times of Nigeria. He is currently the CEO of Brymedia West Africa Limited.

Ahmad Farroukh who joined MTN as Chief Executive Officer after 18 months from Wood departure, is currently the Group Executive Director in charge of Operations at Smile Telecoms Holdings. Given the preeminent role of Smile Nigeria towards the realisation of the Federal Government’s quest for enhanced broadband penetration, Ahmad spends most of his executive time in Nigeria and will be central to Smile’s quest to acquire 9Mobile.

Farroukh had the arduous task of bringing MTN Nigeria to what is it is today. His service record for the full tenure he served is stellar. Between July 2006 and April 2011 he increased MTN subscriber base to 40 million and achieved 62% healthy margin. He had the distinction of managing 17 operations of the MTN Group after he left Nigeria.

As both Wood and Farroukh go head-to-head in the quest to clinch the 9Mobile business it promises to be battle royal. Beside the distinguished record that favors Farroukh, he is armed with a local Nigerian operation and presence and Smile 800 LTE Broad band frequency that will be a game changer.

Similarly, Airtel Double Data plans are still blazing and in fact, am currently rocking Airtel 1500 Naira for 6GB data plan. So I will be revealing the secrets here and direct for you.

Aside from MTN and Airtel double data bonuses, there is also Glo and 9Mobile double data offers which are relatively unknown to some people but after reading this post, you can now activate, subscribe and use them on your phone. Interestingly, when any of these plans are successfully activated, you can use it with an android phone, tablet, dongle, mifi, modem, Symbian, java, blackberry etc. See the guidelines on how to get them activated below.

1. HOW TO ACTIVATE MTN 100% DOUBLE DATA OFFER

✔ Normally, you receive the bonus offer automatically from MTN but if you haven't received the message, you can send DOUBLE, PROMO and FREE to 131 as text message.
✔️ When you get reply, you can then recharge and get your double data offer activated. Note that, it depends on eligibility.
✔️ Now, dial *131# and purchase any data plan from the list and your data will be doubled.

✔️ To check your data balance dial *131*4# and enjoy!

2. HOW TO ACTIVATE AIRTEL 100% DOUBLE DATA OFFER

✔ Airtel double data doesn't base on eligibility. You can dial *144# and purchase any of the applicable data plans.

✔️ Immediately, the purchased data will be doubled.
✔️ To check your data balance, dial *140# and note that the double data offer lasts for 6 months but your purchased validity period based on the type of data plan you bought.

✔️ But if you weren't given the double data bonus on Airtel, you can check this trick here

3. HOW TO ACTIVATE GLO 100% DOUBLE DATA OFFER

✔ Glo 100% double data doesn't based on eligibility i.e it can be enjoyed by all Glo subscribers. Even new and existing customers are eligible.
✔️ Firstly, buy any Glo official data plan by dialling *777# and leave the auto-renewal.

✔️ Once your previous purchased data finishes, the next data plan that will be auto-renewed, will be doubled automatically.
✔️ Remember to always check your data balance by dialling *127*0# and enjoy! You can check Latest Glo data plans

4. HOW TO ACTIVATE 9MOBILE 100% DOUBLE DATA OFFER

✔ The double data bonus offer of 9mobile doesn't base on eligibility but on tariff plan. If you are using 9mobile network, you can migrate to Morecliq tariff plan by dialling *244*1# to enjoy the offer.
✔️ After successful migration, dial *545# and activate the 100% double data offer.

✔️ Now, subscribe to any 9mobile data plan and it will be doubled immediately.
To check your data balance, dial *228# and enjoy!

But if you didn't get your bonus normally, follow this guidelines to get yours.

NOTE: Most of the bonuses valid for 6 months. Meaning after activating and usibg them for the period of 6 months, you won't be able to enjoy it again. This happens on MTN and Airtel. At least I have confirmed the two networks. Others yet to be confirmed.

Now, the question is, which doubt data bonus are you currently enjoying? What is your best double data plan so far? From which network?

Benin Republic Orders Globacom to Leave the Country

Nigerian telecom giant Globacom has been ordered to leave Benin because it has refused to pay a new licensing fee.

The Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Posts (ARCEP), which issued the order, noted that its decision was based on the Glo’s refusal to pay while others are paying.

The regulator said it had, therefore, directed Glo to stop the sale of new SIM cards and recharge cards.

Glo is required to notify its subscribers of the impending cessation of its activities and ask them to use up their available airtime and data within 30 days of the notification sent to them, according to the regulator.

“Glo Mobile will also have to maintain its passive co-location infrastructure with other operators for a period of three months,” ARCEP stated.

In September 2017, negotiations between Glo and the new administration failed.

Glo has been operating in Benin since August 2007 and has grown its market share to about 12% over the 11 years period.

If Glo finally leaves Benin, it would have been the second to leave after Bell Benin Communications SA exited some time back.

That country would then be left with MTN, Libercom, Spacetel and Moov serving subscribers in that country.
