Android 7.0 OTA Update Is Now Available For Moto Z & Moto Z Force Phones

Both the Moto Z and Moto Z Force were among the devices announced on October to get latest Android 7 Nougat update and right now the update is available for the two phones.

A lot of users with Verizon-branded Moto Z and the Moto Z Force have been getting reports of the device receiving OTA update for Android Nougat 7.0.

From the update, software version of the OTA update is NCL26.86-11 for the Z Force Droid and the Moto Z Droid comes with NCL25.86-11 and the size of the update is about 1.5GB with an estimated installation time of 20 minutes. Note that your phone usually gets warm or let me say hot so I will advise you to remove any Moto Mods or phone case/covers to help in cooling the phone while the installation is going on.

As expected, Android 7.0 brings some new features to your phone hence the mention of new Nougat features such as split-screen, App quick-switching (double tap the app switcher to switch between your two most recent apps) and others.

The update is currently rolling out Over The Air (OTA) but if you haven't seen it yet on your Moto Z phone, kindly go to Settings > System updates > Check for system update and you should see the update waiting for you.
