Checkout Smartphones That Will Get 'Android O' Update

Also known as Android 8, Android O was recently announced by Google as the new OS version to succeed Android 7.0 Nougat. The "O" means Oreo and it's coming straight to some phones which is already listed on this post.

Android O is coming with important updates and new features that you wouldn't wanna miss if you are truly an Android freak. This latest Android version will be rolling out starting from August this year, Android O is expected to be release via OTA updates to some Android devices.

Now, am sure you are really wishing your phone will be among those to welcome the new update... But you are using some kind of those phones from China. Relax bro... Probably, yours will come in 2018 😁.

Well, Pixel owners will be the first to receive it. They are the new set of Android phones completely owned by Google and as expected, they are always the first to enjoy google top services. Recall that Android 7.0 Nougat was released Over The Air last year and now we have a new version. Checkout the phones that will get Android O update first below.

Android Phones To Get Android O


1. Google Pixel, Pixel XL — Being Google's own devices, the two Pixels are ought to begin receiving Android O as soon as it's officially out.

2. Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X — Google's former flagship phones will likely begin receiving Android O after the Pixels, but should be running it well before the year ends.

3. Samsung
Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+: No Info yet, but will like receive Android OTA update in February 2018
Galaxy Note 8: May like come with Android 0 out of the box… worst scenarios, Jan – Feb’18
Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge: Between March to April 2018
Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+: Spring time of 2018

4. Nokia
HMD promised that Nokia 3, 5 & 6 will be getting Android 0 but there are not projected time for it.

5. LG
LG V30, LG G6, LG V20 and LG G5: hearsay suggested that this version of LG may likely get Android 0 early 2018.

For other brands, no information yet about them in regards to this. Only time will tell when phones from Infinix, Tecno, Gionee, Innjoo and even iTel will get this update.

  3. With the introduction of Android 8,it baffles my imagination seeing some phones still running Android 5 or 5.1,are supposed to take us forward or backwards.

  8. it pains me of not hearing that tecno product like tecno m3 and p5 not getting an update will other new product getting an update, I think they should consider helping us so that people will start to make use of their old phone
