In the news today, there is massive request urging Facebook to discontinue its messenger app for kids. The coalition of child health advocates has published an open letter addressing CEO Mark Zuckerberg and calling for the company to shutter Messenger Kids: Aka the Snapchat-ish comms app it launched in the US last December — targeted at the under 13s.

The Facebook Messenger for Kids has no ads or paid contents and Facebook says it's an easier and safer version of its regular Messenger app. But it seems some categories of parents are uncomfortable with it. Checkout other tech news making rounds today below.

  1. Amazing techy headlines we have here today, but i will be airing my views on the facts that was called out Facebook To End Its Messaging App For Kids,

    according to him, he made it known that it was for 13years and above, but looking it from another angle i think discontinuing it is not a set back, i said so because allowing it to be accepted is capable of creating some negative impacts on the children,
    yes in the sense of towing and practicing what they learnt secretly from Adults, e.g partially sharing nudity, and that's how it starts...
