Is your phone using MediaTek or Snapdragon chipset?

Are You Aware Of The Security Threat On MediaTek Android Devices?

Are you using tecno, gionee, infinix, xiaomi and any other MediaTek smartphone devices running on android 4.4 Kitkat operating? well, there is a serious security loophole found on all mediatek devices running on android 4.4 OS and I think its necessary to let you all know about it and take precautionary measures and avoid being infected by virus or attacked with malware.

This deadly bug was first noticed by researcher Justin Case who uses an Obi Alligator S454 smartphone and his phone runs on MediaTek  MT6582 to show the permission breakthrough which triggers a root access in the phone.

Going by a statement by MediaTek through NDTV which reads as follows...
“We are aware of this issue and it has been reviewed by MediaTek’s security team. It was mainly found in devices running Android 4.4 KitKat, due to a de-bug feature created for telecommunication inter-operability testing in China.”
“After testing, phone manufacturers should disable the de-bug feature before shipping smartphones. However, after investigation, we found that a few phone manufacturers didn’t disable the feature, resulting in this potential security issue.”
Though no particular manufacturer or producer of smartphone was named to be most hitted or exposed to this security issue, the mediateck team have started issuing worning signals to all smartphone manufacturers that uses MTK processor.

I will advice you to be more careful this time around. Don't download apps you are not sure of from another insecure source. Don't visit virus and malware prone sites if you are using MTK device until a fix for this security issue is solved.

A patch file or zip flashable file to fix it will be out soon. Stay tuned!
