Beware Of This Fake Bank BVN SMS From Fraudsters

Remember last year and also in January this year, I posted an article about an SMS i received from certain phone numbers who claimed to be bank official while the other number claimed to be from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). From the message, they said that due to system upgrade and failures, that my ATM card has been deactivated but it can be fixed as long as i provide my bvn and account number.

Immediately, i saw the message, i knew it's a cheap sca^m so i ignored it. Few weeks later, another SMS arrived, requesting that i should call certain numbers in other to update my BVN. I ignored it too but my friend nearly got into their fraudulent trap as he went as far as calling them and about to provide his bank details to them before he realized himself and called me for my opinion.

Fast forward it to this month. They have started sending this deceitful SMS again to phone numbers. I received one yesterday and another one today. Please i want to use this medium to alert you and advice you not to fall to this cheap sca^m.

Messages below

"SMSCaster.com: DEAR CUSTOMER,DUE TO BVN SYSTEM UPGRADE,YOUR ATM DEBIT CARD HAS JUST BEEN DEACTIVATED,CALL 08145266985 FOR REACTIVATION"

And this is the second message with some errors

"Dear customer,Due to our BVN system updrade your ATM CARD has been de-activited to reactivate call 08142101757 for help."
