Introducing Alcatel A5 LED - Worlds First LED-covered Smartphone

Alcatel A5 LED has been announced at the MWC 2017 with a special feature which is "interactive LED-covered body" making it first of its kind in the world. The LED will light up whenever you receive any type of notifications such as phone calls, messages, emails and so on.

The LEDs will light in accordance to the music you are playing (it seems childish to me shaa) but one man's food is another man's poison so no problem. But I like the fact that the LED can be customized in different ways according to users preferences.

Looking at the specifications, Alcatel A5 LED runs Android Marshmallow and it's powered by 1.5GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor alongside 2GB of RAM and supported by 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card.

In terms of cameras, the phone has a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front lense shooter for selfies.

Now over to the battery capacity, am sure most of you won't be impressed with the 2800mAh non removable battery it uses. That's to say no smartphone has it all. In fact, no phone is perfect in terms of specifications. Well, it measures 146.00 x 72.10 x 7.70 (height x width x thickness) .

As expected, the Alcatel A5 LED is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) ready. It accepts Nano-SIM cards. In terms of connectivity options, it supports Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor.

But what about the price, well, the Alcatel A5 LED is expected to cost 199EUR (roughly N91,540). What do you think?

  1. Based on the briefs and other stuffs posted by Wizytechs, the phone is not really okay since the price is too high.

The battery is another turn off for we Nigerians because of our unsteady power supply.
Any user of this phone should be prepared to go with a powerbank always.
