Bad News For MTN SME Data Resellers

It's not the first time, neither is it the second time, MTN has once again stabbed data resellers in the back this time by increasing the price of SME data share. The bell this latest action rings is "bad business for SME data resellers". Don't worry, you will see why.

With this move, it's now clear that MTN want to kick out data resellers in the business because those that patronize them will now have to reconsider buying data directly from MTN instead of the third party resellers.

To confirm this, MTN sent a direct message to all SME resellers and it reads... “Dear Customer, from Dec. 7, 2017, the following prices will apply to MTN SME Data Share: 10GB–N6,500; 20GB–N13,000; 50GB–N30,000. Thank you for choosing MTN!”

Now it's obvious that no SME data reseller will continue selling 1GB for N600 and 2GB for N1100 once this new twist takes effect in December 7 because they will try to adjust by increasing the prices of data they sell to customers in order to make little gain. In that case, they will likely loose many customers who will choose buying directly from MTN than from third party sellers.

So before December 7th, you can buy data in bulk now. At least the one that will serve you in few months time otherwise you will likely buy with more money.
