Facebook to Give $1 Million Scholarship to Journalism Students

Facebook has in recent times proven not to be just a social media platform for chatting. The latest update making waves now reveals that Facebook is giving out a whooping $1 Million scholarship for students pursuing degrees in digital media, journalism or communications

Facebook is poised to use this platform to help students of Journalism and leave an indelible mark in the journalism industry.

FB said it's partnering with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Asian American Journalists Association, Native American Journalists Association and National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association to distribute up to $1 million in scholarships over the next five years. Each organization will receive $250,000 through an initiative called The Facebook Journalism Project, with each individual scholarship expected to be worth $10,000.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is trying to hard to make sure the news industry is filtered and only delivers news feeds to people who are interested in their posts. This according to reports is another way of making this a reality as he partners with some of the top news industries.
