HMD Global launches new feature phone; Nokia 106, brings two more colors for Nokia 230


HMD Global who currently has a couple of good and well-known android smartphones in its portfolio have decided to try something new with the release of this new feature phone. The new feature phone carries the name Nokia 106 and it has a bar design along with a standard T9 physical keyboard, pretty much looking like most feature phones out there. Nokia also says that scratches on this feature phone should be less visible thanks to the colour that runs through it, otherwise known as inherent colouring. The device has an MTK 6261D processor on the inside along with a 4MB of RAM and 4MB of internal storage which can store up to 2,000 contacts and 500 messages. The 800mAh battery on the Nokia 106 can last up to 21 days on standby and give more than 15 hours of talk time. Nokia’s Classic Snake game – Snake Xenzia is also on board on the Nokia 106 along with some other games. The device also has dual SIM support so you can make use of your two SIM on this device. A Micro USB port is also present to charge the 800mAh battery.

Asides the new phone launch, the old ones are also getting a new makeover, specifically the Nokia 230 which was released 3 years ago in 2015. The Nokia 230 which originally came in just two colours – black and white is also getting two more colours – light grey and dark blue bringing the total colours available for this device to four. The new colours options are available for all variant of the Nokia 230 feature phone – both the single-SIM and dual-SIM version.

HMD Global May Bring Back Nokia N-Series

HMD Global, the new company behind Nokia phones has released a teaser online suggesting that we may be welcoming the return of Nokia N-series in a rebranded form just as we noticed in Nokia 3310 and other old devices that were revived recently.

"The company’s Weibo account posted a commemorative post about the Nokia N-series and how it was launched on April 27 2005, 13 years ago. On that day at a press conference in Amsterdam the Finns unveiled the Nokia N70, N90 and N91." GsmArena.

However, the article included an invitation that appears to be an invitation for the unboxing of a new phone. The rumor mill has been abuzz with Nokia X6 leaks, but could this be a double reveal?

As you can see from the photo, the leaked phone here is Nokia N8, one of the best-loved phones of the series and a legendary cameraphone.

The N-series always had a thing for photography and their name is tightly bound to Zeiss lenses (a partnership that HMD has rekindled).

Nokia is not afraid of releasing software update hopefully, Google’s Android One will not mess that reputation up this time.

Rumor: Nokia E71 (2018) to Be Launched Next Year

HMD Global is gearing up to launch a rebranded Nokia E71 in 2018 alongside Nokia 9. The devices are expected to land in the Q1 of 2018.

Nokia E71 (2018) will be a 4G feature phone with QWERTY keyboard input hardware system.

In terms of specs, the device is expected to come with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480p. The processor used is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 chip designed to bring 4G LTE on low-budget and feature. Unlike most feature phones, the E71 (2018) will have 1 GB RAM + 8GB internal storage.

It's rumored that Nokia E71 will come with 3MP main back camera and we are expected to see single sim and dual sim option depending on the market.

For the price tag, it's not official at the moment but would likely cost you around $300 but there is other speculation saying it could cost cheaper at $150.
