Only two cameras take up space at the back of the device as this device uses an in-display fingerprint sensor. The Nokia Maze Monster will definitely be quite bulky and slightly heavy, thanks to the massive battery on the inside.

Reason Why Nokia and Vodafone Want To Launch 4G Network In The Moon

As weird as this sounds, Nokia and Vodafone are actually planning to launch 4G mobile network in the moon even though some places in the planet are yet to get 4G network.

The lunar 4G mobile network in the moon is expected to be available in 2019. But what is the reason for this? Why 4G network in the moon?

According to the BBC, the lunar 4G mobile network will be used by rovers based on the moon to stream high definition video back to a base station which will beam it down to earth. A Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) or rover is a battery-powered four-wheeled vehicles that carries astronauts, their equipment, and lunar samples around on the Moon.

Also, this network will be used for both manned and unmanned Moon expeditions which collect lots of scientific data, including high resolution video and photos, that needs to be transmitted.

A 4G mobile network will certainly mean less demand on a rover and easy accessibility. In fact, it will make the work more easier in space.

Another advantage is that astronauts can move farther without worrying about getting disconnected. Sending these heavy data directly from a rover to earth requires much power and 4G will lessen it.

Once this technology is launched, HD videos can also be streamed live from the moon.

Of course this task gonna cost millions of Dollars and many people may see it as a waste of money, time and resources but in reality, space technology has positively affected life on earth. It has helped in areas like agriculture, medicine and even mobile technology. You can see it's not really a waste of money.

Below is a video from the British Broadcasting Corporation website in regards to this. You can watch it.
I would like to visit the moon one day 😉

The Matrix Phone: Nokia 8110 4G Is Back in 2018

HMD Global has launched the 2018 version of 1996 Nokia 8110 with 4G LTE support. Nokia 8110 4G is the Matrix Phone from 1996

The original Nokia 8110 was famously referred to as the Matrix Phone because it was featured in the 1999 blockbuster movie, The Matrix, starring Keanu Reeves as Neo. Here are details and pictures of the Nokia 8110 4G edition.

Nokia 8110 4G (2018 Edition)

Nokia 8110 back then was a high-end phone with a slider in the shape of a banana.

It's is actually a feature phone, back then it's very expensive as it was built for business. The phone’s slider covered a traditional alpha-numeric keypad.

So just the way HMD Global brought back Nokia 3310, the company has now resurrected this one and called it Nokia 8100 2018 Edition.

FEATURES OF NOKIA 8110 4G
Nokia 8110 4G as the name suggests, has 4G LTE network connectivity enabled. It runs smart feature OS a forked version of the now discontinued Firefox OS.

The software has an app store that are available on 30 million devices in India and North America. Also Facebook is working on a way to develop an app for it as well.

There is a small 2.4-inch display as well as a 2 megapixel main camera.

Meanwhile, the phone will come in double SIM and single SIM variants. It can synchronize your contacts, email and calendar, as well as allow you share its 4G LTE internet via a mobile WiFi hotspot.

AVAILABILITY AND PRICE
Of course, you don't expect a feature phone to cost very high in 2018. So while the 1996 version was expensive then, this resurrected version costs ($97, €79, N34,000).
I still think that it's on the high side. Well, below you will see the full specs.

Specifications and Price of Nokia 8 Sirocco In Nigeria

Nokia 8 Sirocco is similar with Nokia 8 launched last year but the difference between the two smartphones are if you replace certain of its features with a bigger 5.5-inch p-OLED bezel-less display, stainless steel frame instead of aluminium, Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, and IP67 water and dust resistance instead of IP54 splash resistance, you have the Nokia 8 Sirocco from 2018.

FEATURES OF NOKIA 8 SIROCCO
The phone is rated IP67 rating meaning it can stay up to 30 minutes inside water without any issue. In other words, it won't damage when submerged inside 1 metre of water. So it's water resistant.

The Nokia Sirocco supports QuickCharge 4, this can charge it from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. It also has wireless charging technology.

For performance, the device is expected to perform very well, good for multitasking and perfect for hard-core gamers. It's powered by the same Snapdragon 835 processor as the Nokia 8 though and has the same 6GB RAM which is similar to what LG has done with the V30S and V30S+.
It appears like the device will have fingerprint scanner embedded on the screen.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Nokia 8 Sirocco will be available in April 2018 and it will cost around €749 (about N328,000) .

5 Key Features of New Nokia 7 Plus Smartphone

5 Key Features of Nokia 7: HMD Global is in a herculean task of resurrecting Nokia and regaining its position as the best mobile phone in the world again.

First, they had to accept that Android Operating System is the best so they ditched Symbian and windows OS for Android OS. They didn't stop there but they continued with series of amazing smartphone being released in the market.

One of the latest phones to be released by the company is the Nokia 7 Plus which is a mid-range device with pinch of all features you would likely see in a high-end premium smartphone in 2018.

In this post, you will see the top 5 features of Nokia 7 Plus and these are solid reasons why you should consider getting yourself a Nokia 7 Plus when it hits the stores in your area.

1. 18:9 Aspect Ratio Screen

This is a trending feature at the moment and the Nokia 7 Plus is HMD Global’s first smartphone with a FullView display having an 18:9 aspect ratio. It has a big 6 inches screen. You can see how beautiful it will appear in a bezel-less design.

2. Snapdragon 660 Processor

Not the best of all chips but this processor has been acclaimed in the industry as offering high-end performance to mid-range smartphones. What this simply means is that the phone will get a high performance and that's the wish of every smartphone user.

3. Android One

According to EvLeaks, the reliable Twitter user globally known for leaking gadgets specs, the Nokia 7 Plus will run Android 8 Oreo and also be on the Android One programme. This suggests that it won’t run the near stock version of Android that Nokia smartphones run, but fully stock Android 8 Oreo. Stock Android means the OS is free of any bloatware.

Nokia is not afraid of releasing software update hopefully, Google’s Android One will not mess that reputation up this time.

4. 4GB RAM

For better multitasking, you are covered here because a combination of Snapdragon 660 processor, stock Android and 4GB RAM means that the Nokia 7 Plus will be awesome at multitasking and switching between apps. Additionally, this phone will be an ideal device for real hard-core gamers.

5. Dual Rear Camera

Another trending feature in new flagship phones is a dual camera setup. Now the Nokia 7 plus has dual rear camera setup with Zeiss optics, promising good mobile photography.
The selfie camera has Zeiss optics and that feature gives a better camera output

Those are the features the makes Nokia 7 Plus stand out among other mid-range phones.

Meanwhile, apart from the above features, there is also a fingerprint sensor at the back, fast battery charging, Gorilla Glass protection for the screen, and an aluminium/ceramic body combination plus other features. You can check the complete Nokia 7 Plus Specifications for more insights.

HMD Global Launch Nokia 7 Plus With This Specifications

Finally, HMD Global has launched Nokia 7 Plus which is the company's first FullView 18:9 aspect ratio display phone although it's coming a little bit late because the likes of Gionee, Tecno and Infinix had already announced theirs.

From the features, the phone has an aluminium unibody with a ceramic texture coating. Another interesting part is there is also a Nokia’s Bothie – the ability to shoot from both front and rear cameras at the same time. Both the front and rear cameras also have Zeiss optics.

Speaking more on photography features, there is a 16 megapixel front-facing camera which has a feature known as Tetracell technology, which combines 4 pixels into one when a photograph is being processed, while the rear camera is a dual 12 megapixels plus 13 megapixels combination that has Nokia’s famed Pro mode.

In terms of specs, the device is expected to come with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480p. The processor used is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 chip designed to bring 4G LTE on low-budget and feature. Unlike most feature phones, the E71 (2018) will have 1 GB RAM + 8GB internal storage.

It's rumored that Nokia E71 will come with 3MP main back camera and we are expected to see single sim and dual sim option depending on the market.

Nokia 8 Now Receiving Latest Android 8 Oreo Update

HMD Global's flagship device, the Nokia 8 smartphone has started receiving latest Android 8 Oreo update. This development is unfolding two weeks after the beta-testing program was carried out. The update is currently available for users in Finland and Poland. According to XDA Developers fan forum users, devices with model numbers TA-1004 and TA-1012 are among the lucky phones that get Android Oreo. HMD executive Juho Sarvikas revealed this also via a tweet.

SOME FEATURES OF THE NEW UPDATE
Some of the new features this software upgrade brings are the Picture-in-picture, detailed Notification dots for every app and Autofill passwords. It also comes with the November Security patch and faster boot times. Users share that YouTube runs seamlessly in the dual app mode, meaning you can watch videos and browse at the same time.

Another improvement the update brings is the camera performance. Meanwhile, you still can’t set up the ISO and shutter speed manually, but the shutter can stay open for up to 0.5 seconds. Back in August, when the phone was announced, the AF had some issues, but now they are fixed.

AVAILABILITY
According to Sarvikas, "the update is expected to be available to everyone in two days time, however, if any carrier decides to review the upgrade one more time, some users might have to wait a week more." He said.

Nokia Woes Continues: HMD Global CEO Arto Nummela Resigns

HMD Global said on Wednesday its CEO Arto Nummela is leaving the company with immediate effect. The announcement comes a little over a year after HMD Global acquired rights to use Nokia's brand for mobile phones and tablets.

The Finnish company didn't share why Nummela is already leaving, but said the decision was mutual. Nummela joined HMD Global last year after spending more than a decade at Nokia and then Microsoft, serving a range of top leadership roles in sales and marketing. As you would expect, he was at the forefront of things when HMD announced the official return of the Nokia brand in December last year.

HMD President Florian Seiche has been appointed to the role of acting CEO, the company added. Much like Nummela, Seiche also joined HMD Global from Microsoft and Nokia. Prior to that, he was the President of HTC and group director of French telecom Orange.

In a prepared statement to the press, Sam Chin, Chairman of the Board, HMD Global Oy said, "Arto Nummela has played a key role in the creation of the HMD Global operation, building the team and launching our first products. On behalf of the whole Board, I thank Arto for his contribution and wish him well in his future endeavors." It's unclear what Nummela plans to do next.

The departure of a senior executive never looks good for a company, and Nummela's move is no different. HMD Global is increasingly trying to revive the Nokia branding. Earlier this year, the company launched the Nokia 3310 to much fanfare and also announced the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, and Nokia 6 Android-powered smartphones. ref
