Opera, On The Verge Of Being Sold To China At $1.2 billion

We all are aware that Opera is one of the most popular web browsers in the world and it stretched across all mobile and PC platforms including Android, iOS, Windows, jarva, symbian, PC etc. The shocking development now is that the web browser is about to be sold to two heavy weight Chinese Companies at the buyout clause of $1.2 billion.

The potential buyers are security Dons Qihoo and online gaming outfit Kunlun, supported by major investment funds, giving the the go ahead order to pay the $1.2 billion (around £830 million, AU$1.7 billion) and automatically become the owners of our darling opera mini and other opera browsers.

This information was also made clear by ZDNET which reported the accurate amount of money placed on the browser. According to the words of
Chief executive Lars Boilesen, "There is strong strategic and industrial logic to the acquisition of Opera by the Consortium. The Consortium's ownership will strengthen Opera's position to serve our users and partners with even greater innovation, and to accelerate our plans of expansion and growth."

The question in the mind of everyone right now is can this people maintain the data compression and saving qualities of opera mini if they eventually acquire it? Anyway, I trust the Chinese guys and I believe they will even make opera more awesome. Kudos to the Chinese guys in advance as we wait for the final outcome.
