TStv Is Back With 45 Premium HD Free-To-Air Channels

I guess some of us has already forgotten TStv after they failed their promises to provide a better alternative to DSTV in Africa and Nigeria in particular. TSTV had many fans under few weeks of announcement because of the affordable price of its decoders, bouquet subscriptions, as well as free data. Google Introduces Voice Remote Feature on YouTube TV

YouTube TV is an internet TV service that allows you stream LIVE broadcasts from major channels like ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC. Recently, new channels were added including Channels TV in Nigeria.

Now google is introducing a new YouTube TV feature called 'voice remote', that lets you do certain important tasks through voice commands instead of clicking or tapping with your hand, stylus pen or any other input device.

For example, you can use your voice to change channels, play a particular channel, perform forward and rewind operations as well as adjust volume.

It will amaze you to know that a support page for this feature has already been there on Google's website for quite some time now, so it was about time the functionality was rolled out.

Meanwhile, voice remote is still not bountifully available for everyone but with users on both Android and iOS platform reporting the arrival of 'voice remote' in their YouTube TV apps. We expect a total rollout of the feature soonest.

Recall that YouTube is also one of the numerous services owned by Google where users uploads thousands of video clips and live streaming for free.

Meet Andre Blaze The Voice Behind BBNAIJA 2018

Many at times people do think that the voice which is heard during the BBNAIJA 2018 show is that of the Host Ebuka, he may be the host of the show but not the man behind the voice.This, Andre Blaze voice had been the same since the start of the show which ran for over 80 days.

The man behind the voice is called Andre Blaze, a Nigerian by birth and also a relative of popular actress Kate Henshaw.

Here are some key facts about Andre Blaze;

Andre Blaze was born on August 14, 1983, to a mother from Anambra State and a father from Cross River State. He grew up in both Port Harcourt and Calabar.

Blaze pursued his undergraduate studies in Linguistics and Communication at the University of Port Harcourt, completing a B.Sc. degree in 2006.

He began his broadcasting career working for Rhythm 93.7 FM Port Harcourt. While there he held various positions such as Head of the Presentation Department, continuity announcer, radio DJ and show host.

As a rapper, Blaze achieved early notoriety as a member of Port Harcourt based hip-hop group Tuck Tyght.

Blaze moved on to television, becoming Nigezie’s Top Ten music video countdown anchor. Between 2008 and 2012, he directed an array of successful TV programs in the country. In addition, he hosted shows like True Search, Battle of the Year and Peak Talent Show. In May 2012, Blaze officially quit his job at the cable TV channel. He would later accept an offer to host Nigeria’s Got Talent, a reality television show based on the Got Talent series format.

Andre Blaze is the cousin of Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw. He has three children with his long-time girlfriend.

The long awaited TStv Sassy Decoder is now available in the Nigerian markets so you can meet the dealers in your state or city to purchase your Sassy Decoder but note that this is the smaller sibling of the previously announced TStv decoder called "dexterity" which offers 20GB free data.

The decoder was actually unveiled LIVE yesterday April 1, 2018 but because of the Easter celebrations, I didn't give update on time. But I am assuring you that the decoder is now available as you can see from some of the pictures here on this post.

If you have been following my update on this blog, should be aware of the features of this Sassy Decoder, all the information you need about it had already been penned down here. You can see the information on this post.

HOW TO PURCHASE TSTV SASSY DECODER

The official price of the Sassy Decoder is N3500 and you can buy it from accredited dealers spread across the states in Nigeria.

TStv Sassy Decoders are available in Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Sokoto, Bayelsa, Imo, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Onisha, Asaba, Ogun, Akure, Kaduna, Zamfara, Aba, Benin, Benue, Maiduguri, Kastina, Abakiliki, Kogi, Lokoja, Lafia, Gusau, Owerri, Kano and other cities. Though in some of these cities, there is just one or few dealers at this moment but the number will increase with time. Meanwhile, In Lagos, there are many dealers available to sell the decoders to you, help you mount it and set it up.

The decoder is portable and looks like Startimes decoder.

Remember this 3500 Naira covers all the accessories which includes the decoder itself, dish and remote controller. TStv Sassy Decoder Price, Channels And Where To Buy In Nigeria

TStv will launch Sassy Decoder in April 1st, 2018 at the price of N3,500 in Nigeria with the following channels on the list.

TStv Sassy Decoder is here but let's hope it won't be another promise and fail as we are now used to that. In fact, some people had already lost interest in the name "TStv" and their promises but with this development, anything can happen.

The new decoder will work similar to GOtv. I mean, as GOtv is to MultiChoice, Sassy Decoder will be to TStv. In other words, Sassy Decoder is a smaller version of the normal TStv decoder with some premium sports channels removed.

There are about 70 channels on the Sassy Decoder but there won't be premium sports channels that will broadcast LIVE English Premier League (EPL) matches. You may receive broadcast for other sports programs and football from other countries or regions though.

Hence, TSTV now has two sets of decoders: Sassy and Dexterity. The Dexterity is what the company promised Nigerians last year with 200+ channels + 20GB data but won’t be on sale now, while the Sassy decoder will be on sale from 1st of April, 2018 and there is no official statement whether this free data will be available on the Sassy or not.

Note that the official price of TSTV decoder for last year sale was N5,000 but has been reduced to N3,500 for the new Sassy decoder.

Select your Wi-Fi wireless network name from the list of available hotspots

Your Smart TV should now be connected to your Wi-Fi and is internet-connected.

2. USING A WIRED CONNECTION
With a wired connection, you will need a LAN or Ethernet cable, with which you will connect your Smart TV to your router. The benefits of wired over wireless include faster Internet speeds and less interruptions.

✔️ Find the LAN or Ethernet port on the back of your Smart TV (see the diagram below)

✔️ Your Smart TV Should attempt to connect to a wireless network. If it doesn’t find one, it will attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi. If it does not attempt any connection, skip this step.

Select the option to enable wired internet and click Start Connection

Your Smart TV will automatically connect to your wired network and it is online.

Reason Why MultiChoice DSTV/GOtv May Shut Down Operation in Nigeria

For the past few days, most of you may have heard the news of MultiChoice which is the parent company owners of both DSTV and GOtv pay-tv networks shutting down operations in Nigeria by June 2019

But what actually is the reason for this in unfortunate news?

Well, it's reported that the Federal Government notified the management of MultiChoice DSTV/GOTV that their operations, in Nigeria, will come to an end in 2019.

According to the government, the operational license of MultiChoice expires June next year (2019). This will affect all DSTV and GOtv services if they didn't fix this.

However, from a letter issued on Tuesday to that effect, by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation(NBC), the license issued to them in 2014 by NBC will not be renewed because it was not in line with Digital Switch Over (DSO) White Paper.

Meanwhile, for Multichoice (DSTV/GOTV) to operate again in Nigeria after expiration of its license, there is just one option which is to go to licensed Signal Distribution company, that is Pinnacle Communications Ltd or ITS.

But in another development, GOTV has been accused of being used as a medium to siphon foreign exchange from Nigeria by its parent company, South African Multi Choice DSTV.

While this news may tremble some DSTV and GOtv users who are addicted to their services, I will like to give you a lifeline. I don't actually see MultiChoice Leaving Nigeria. They will always find a way to settle issues with FG to continue operation as Nigeria is a big market for the company.
