Also known as Samsung Galaxy S Lite Luxury, the price of Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite in Nigeria is pinned at 180,000 Naira which is pricey if you ask me but considering the brand and features of the smartphone, one can cough out that amount to land the latest Sammy device in town. It is a slightly stripped version of Samsung Galaxy S8.

A little info about the S8 lite specs before I release the full specification details; the device arrives with Samsung Pay, it runs Android 8.0 out of the box. Under the hood is Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU. The Samsung S8 Lite supports dual SIM cards with 4G connectivity, there is 4GB RAM and 64GB on-board memory but it uses a hybrid SIM slot while the camera configuration is 16 megapixels and 8 megapixels at the back and front respectively.

SAMSUNG GALAXY A6+

Once of the difference between Galaxy A6 and A6+ is that the former has a smaller screen size as the later boasts of a larger 6 inches display as against 5.6 inches on A6. Samsung is a household name when it comes with consumer electronics. Be it Refrigerators, Air Conditioning Systems, Home Theaters, DVD, Smartphones and even Televisions, Samsung is just everywhere.

Talking about Television, the Samsung factory in the Dube Trade Port in Durban during 2014 with a total investment of $20 million over four years now produces 5000 units of Samsung TVs.

The plant assembles the entire range of Samsung TVs, Production capacity is 5,000 units per day, including monitors. The TVs manufactured are exported to SADC regions, and to East and West Africa.

“Since opening in 2014, only 4% of factory operators employed had formal manufacturing experience in the metal and engineering industries,” said Samsung.
“All 200 staff, of which 42% are female, have been upskilled and fully trained. Seven operators have been promoted.”

Meanwhile, Samsung is busy now building a distributing centre on an adjoining site to the factory, which it said will streamline its operations and create more jobs. Report.

Wireless Charger for Samsung Galaxy 9

While the world and especially Samsung fans are eagerly anticipating for the launch of Galaxy S9, Samsung want to add more swag to the whole thing by producing a wireless phone charger for the device.

The new fast wireless charger is expected to come along the smartphone as soon as it's launched. According to a leaked user manual, the new pad will have two charging coils and will support fast charging up to 9V/1.67A, 9V/2A or 12V/2.1A.

According to GsmArena, "the charger is similar to the current standing pad - it has a USB-C on the back for power input and a fan on the back to dissipate the heating from all the Qi charging. There is also an indicator light with various modes for better access. Red means charging, green means ready, flashing light means error."

The covers and cases leaked as well, once more confirming the dual-cam setup on the back of the Galaxy S9+. The protective accessories will include Hyperknit and Alcantara cases and a protective standing cover with MIL-STD-810G compatibility.

This is not the first time we are seeing a wireless charger as iPhone, LG and few other brands already have phones with wireless charging technology.

You can call it Samsung Galaxy S9+ or the Galaxy S9 Plus, anyhow it's said, all you need to know is that this is the bigger version of Galaxy S9 that leaked online early in January this year.

As an upgraded version, Samsung Galaxy S9+ packs a bigger screen, bigger RAM, and bigger battery. We are looking at a 6.2 inches, FullView and 18:9 aspect ratio screen. Also, unlike the 4GB RAM on its twin, what is here is 6GB RAM. And the battery capacity has been bumped up from the S9’s 3000mAh to 3500mh.

Well, as expected, it has an aluminium frame and Gorilla Glass front and back covers, the Galaxy S9+ is also IP68 water and dust resistant.

Samsung is Most Copied Smartphone Brand - Antutu

Every now and then, new smartphones are released from different brands in the world especially in China. But among these new brands, there are few of them copying the likes of Samsung, Apple and even Infinix.

Original & Fake Samsung Phone

I have seen cloned Infinix Hot Note, Note 3, Infinix Zero 4, Zero 5 and Infinix Hot 2. But in this context, we are looking at Samsung and according to the latest report from Antutu, Samsung is the most copied smartphone brand in the world.

The data by AnTuTu reveals that 2.64% of results in its database were posted by a copycat device. These phones are not just copycats in terms of design but they are complete replica devices sold as the real phone.

Meaning some people claiming to be using Samsung phones are actually using a fake device cloned to look exactly as a particular Samsung phone.

Stats from GsmArena shows that Samsung is the most popular brand to clone – 36.23% of fake phones were pretending to be a Galaxy. Just the Galaxy S7 edge clones account for 8% of the fakes. The smaller S7 is high on the list too and – surprisingly! - so are Samsung’s flip phones.

Apple followed in second position as fake Apple phones hold 7.72% of the bogus market, lead by iPhone 7 Plus lookalikes – they are in the Top 5 with 2.67%. Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus and Huawei are all affected as well. The “Other” category is huge too, over 40%.

As expected, AnTuTu reports that these fake and cloned devices are pretty low in quality and performance. Nearly 60% of them have quad-core processors to save on cost, only 30% got octa-core CPUs.

Also in the display department, they adopt a 720p or 1080p panel. They make everything possible to make the physical outlook resemble the original.

HOW TO IDENTIFY A FAKE OR CLONED PHONE
Before you buy any phone of your choice, make sure you checked the specifications of the device online and go to the store with it.
Before paying for the phone, turn it on, check the settings > about phone to see the features, check the memory, the RAM, camera, the Android version and the processor to see if it corresponds with the specs online. If it's different, don't buy.

Another way to spot a fake version of a phone is the price will appear too good to be true. Once the price of a phone is too cheap from what is online. Run!

Samsung Mistakenly Leaks Galaxy X Phone

After Apple launched the iPhone X, Samsung seems to come out with something similar in name. The South Korean company "mistakenly" revealed the Galaxy X phone on their website support page.

Both the support page and the NRRA certification reference model number SM-G888N0, which is the Korean model of the phone. While the support page doesn’t reveal any specifications about the phone itself (save for the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi certifications, and one from the South Korean NNRA), it does confirm that Samsung is plotting something X

As for the launch date and availability, nothing was revealed but it could coincide with January’s CES 2018.

But let's not mistake the Galaxy X with the Foldable Galaxy X Glass smartphone from same company. More information on this phone will be revealed as time goes on.

Android 7 Nougat Update Starts Hitting Samsung Galaxy C7 Devices

Users of Samsung Galaxy C7 can now check for firmware update which beings Android 7.0 Nougat update to their device.

This update seems to have started in China and one user has already shared screenshot detailing the changelog and other information in Chinese language.

The size of this OTA update is 1142 MB and it brings new Samsung Experience and its various features. Improvements include Always-On Display, Multi-window, and the Settings menu.

The update will also make apps on the Galaxy C7 smartphone to install faster and will be more power-efficient as soon as the Nougat update is installed.

Samsung also added a new security patch to the update. Meanwhile, the company is hereby reminds all Gear IconX users to check if related apps are compatible with the upgrade and ensure they make a back-up to avoid stories that touches if something goes wrong.

Some New Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Devices are Having Freezing Issues

Why is it that after all the hypes of these flagship devices from notable phone brands, they still come out with bugs? Right now, some users of new Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Smartphone are complaining of freezing issues.

Remember last week, Google's new Pixel 2 smartphone had issues as well, now it has come to Samsung's latest flagship - Galaxy Note8.
