Reason Why TStv Has Not Started Selling Decoder To The Public

After officially launching in Nigeria in October 1st, TStv decoders are yet to be seen at dealers shops nationwide talk more of been sold out to the public. People has bombarded them with numerous questions why the products are not yet on sale. I personally receives quite a good number of mails from people who are eager to buy the decoder but unable to see it in the stores or market.

Well, TStv has finally replied and answered the question of why the decoders are not yet on sale at the moment. Below is their answer:

"TStv Africa wishes to inform the general public that the delay in the commencement of the commercial sale of TStv Africa decoder is as a result of complaints of non-availability of dealer / retailer outlets in some areas and some dealers who are still in the process of accreditation, pleaded to get accredited before product sale commencement so as to have control over their region."

Meanwhile, no date was announced by them as to when the decoders and dish will be live in stores across the country but am guessing it before two weeks, it should be available and customers can buy and install the decoder and dish.

Is TStv Actually Pirating beIN Contents? Company Replies.

Is TStv real? Are they actually pirating contents from beIN by broadcasting some beIN channels? Are they guilty of the allegation being leveled on them by some individuals that claimed to be from beIN? Well, here is all I know about the recent saga that want to spoil our mood.

Yesterday, some people composed a letter on-behalf of beIN to TStv for intellectual property infringement. The letter stated that TStv has no right to advertise or use any channel from beIN. This means most of the sports channels will not be available if this is true. Read the excerpt of the letter below;

ILLEGAL PIRATING OF BEIN CONTENT

CEASE & DESIST

Dear Sir,
I am writing on behalf of beIN - a global sports and entertainment group, headquartered in Qatar. As you would be aware, beIN provides a subscription television service to more than 50 million customers worldwide. beIN's broadcast territories include the middle East & North Africa, France, united States and Canada, South East Asia, Australia & New Zealand.

beIN is the exclusive license of the broadcast rights to many of the world's major international sporting leagues and other entertainment content in our various territories. We also produce and own the copyright in our content. (Together, "beIN Content")

beIN invests substantial sums in acquiring those rights , which are highly valuable. Other parties are not permitted to copy and re-broadcast beIN Content without express authorization.

beIN is also the owner of trademark and other rights in the name "beIN" and associated branding ("beIN Trademarks"). Other parties are not permitted to use beIN Trademarks without express authorization.

Intellectual Property Infringement by TStv
We have become aware that your company TStv intends to launch a pay television service to subscribers in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa generally. Information about this service is contained on the website at http://tstvafrica.com.

the below image was taken from your website, which indicates that you intend to make beIN channels available.

Are you thinking what I am also thinking? Chai! All our enemies in life will fail. I hope this isn't true because I have accepted and embraced TStv with all arms, advertising their products for free.

Let's wait and see when the decoder finally goes live, only then we will check if beIN sports channels are there.

6 Untold Truth About TSTV Africa (Nigeria)

Those of you that are still not convinced on certain issues about TSTV Nigeria including how the packages are used, the subscription, pausing features, expiration date etc can now be cleared through this article. Here we unveil the untold truth you probably haven't heard or you have craved to hear for you.

According to Paul Asuquo who is also into satellite dish and decoder installation, there are certain secretes revealed by Engr. Kolawole Oluade:
Here are first hand info on the 6 things to know about TSTV that is lauching today

1. The N5000 for TSTV initial purchase includes a decoder, a dish and a remote control but excludes any installation service charge.

2. TSTV Pay AS You Go pause service i.e. the ability to pause your subscription when not in use would be available to those that would go for the maximum subscription which is the monthly N3,000 package and you would only be able to pause subscription not more than 7 days, thereby allowing you 37 days at most for your monthly subscription. So don’t expect to use your 1 month subscription from January to December in the name of pausing or expect to user 1 day N200 subscription for 1 month.

3. The first time you buy the decoder is the only time you would be able to enjoy up to 20GB of data as bonus, for subsequent full monthly subscription comes with 10GB of data and not 20GB as some of you might be thinking.
Tstv Nigeria launch
4. TSTV has incorporated its subscription service payments into Quickteller the popular E-payment service in the country and just like DSTV, you would also be able to easily pay for your TSTV subscriptions through Quickteller.

5. You would be able to buy extra 1GB data or above from TSTV at the cost of N300 for 1GB

6. TSTV data allocation has nothing to do with watching of TVST channels but just a separate and additional offer to the entire TSTV concept or better still what you commonly regard as Value Added Service (VAS)
